I am 16. 16 years of life I have lived and they have been filled with wonder, excitement, and adventure. I simply want to discuss today how lucky we all are to be able to push ourselves to our limits and beyond. To explore and experience the world. Nature. My parents instilled in me a lust for the outdoors. Through travel and hiking they showed me amazing places. With my joining of Boy Scouts 8 years ago I discovered even more. Enjoying exploits galore has been amazing. Through Scouts I have done everything from white water rafting, to rock climbing in the Rockies, to kayaking through island caves. I am grateful, but what has increased my life even more is running. Through running I have been lucky enough to travel to some pretty freakin' amazing places! Running down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon or the Sierra Nevada. I am excited to see where I will go next.

By telling you how grateful I am to have experienced what I have, I hope it sparks in you thankfulness for your own adventures. I hope you can reflect on what you have accomplished and what you have pushed through. Because it is pretty awesome that we can be out there. Journeying to discomfort and entering the pain cave all while absorbing the beauty of the outdoors. Be thankful. Be present. Run wild. And of course always try to be better.

Thank you.
